This guide will walk you through the process of adding a custom button to your Salesforce page layout that launches Leadmonk's Instant Scheduler, Booking page or Routing form, making it easier to schedule meetings directly within Salesforce.

1. Creating a custom button in Salesforce

a) Navigate to "Object Manager" in Salesforce Setup

b) Search for the Object you wish to create the button for: In the Object Manager, use the search bar to find the object where you want the button to appear (e.g., Lead, Contact, etc.).

c) Click "Buttons, Links, and Actions" → "Add Button or Link": Select the object you found and from its page, click Buttons, Links, and Actions. Then, choose Add Button or Link to start creating your custom button.

d) Define Button Properties: Fill out the following details for your custom button:

  • Label: This is the text displayed on the button itself (e.g., "Book Meeting").
  • Description (optional): Provide a brief explanation of what the button does (e.g., "Opens Leadmonk to schedule a meeting").
  • Display Type: Choose "Detail Page Button" as you want it to appear on the detailed information page of the selected object.
  • Behavior: Select "Display in a new window" to launch Leadmonk in a separate browser tab.
  • Content Source: Choose "URL" as you'll be specifying the Leadmonk URL to open.

e) Choose the Correct URL:

Enter the appropriate Leadmonk URL into the URL field. You can choose between:

You can pre-fill the Leadmonk booking page with attendee details directly from Salesforce by adding URL parameters. The Leadmonk help pages provide more information:

2. Add the Button to the Page Layout

Once your Custom Button is created on the respective Object, the next step is adding the Button to the Salesforce Page Layout so that End Users are able to access and click on the Button to call Leadmonk booking URL.

  • In "Object Manager," in the Object you added the Custom Button, select "Page Layout" and choose the Page Layout you wish to apply the Button to.
  • Click on "Buttons", search for the Button you created in the previous steps, and Drag the button into the "Custom Buttons" Section of the Page Layout.

3. Make the Button Accessible in Record Detail View

a) Open a Record Detail View:

Navigate to a specific record for the chosen object (e.g., Lead record).

b) Edit the Page Layout:

Click the Gear icon on the page and choose Edit Page.

c) Add the Button to the "Highlight Panel":

Click on the Highlight Panel, then click Add Actions on the right side.

d) Search and Add the Custom Button:

Search for the name of your custom button and click Add to include it in the Highlight Panel.

e) Save the Changes:

Click Save in the top right to finalize the page layout modifications.

4. Testing the Button

Click the newly added button in the record detail view. The Leadmonk Booking page or Router form should open in a new browser tab, pre-filled with the relevant information (if URL parameters were used).

5. Visualizing the Page

Now you can enjoy the convenience of scheduling meetings directly from Salesforce using your custom button.

Remember: Salesforce Lightning Page Layouts have a maximum of 10 visible action buttons. Choose wisely which buttons to display.
